This lot, A MARBLE CONSIGNMENT , consists of a 1-5/8" (42 mm) hand made "Quadruple Ribbon Core" (ca. 1850-1870) in Near Mint - (8.2) condition with one half dozen surface moons and a dozen or so subsurface moons/reflections (all on one side of the marble), as well as a flake on the upper pontil and a hint of wear and pinpricking (examined, as always, under 20-power magnification with strong lighting). It has four sets of outer strands, two yellow and two white, spiraling around four interior ribbons, two pink/green/yellow/white and two pink/blue/yellow/white. The basal pontil is ground (faceted) in the style of the earliest hand made glass marbles. PLEASE NOTE THAT I HAVE JOINED A GROWING NUMBER OF SELLERS WHO WILL NO LONGER ACCEPT PAYPAL.
