This Marbles No.3 hatchet is very close to mint condition. They are extremely rare to find in this unused condition. The dimensions of the axe are 11 1/4" from top to bottom. The ax head is 4.1/4" wide from hammer end to cutting edge. The hammer end is 1 1/2" wide and 2.1/4" wide at blade edge. The blade edge is razor sharp. The ax is in perfect working order, the safety guard is nicer than I ever have seen... All markings are perfect on the axe head and on the spring guard, except for the 3 the bottom half is missing. The spring guard is marked Marbles Arms & Mfg. Co. Gladstone, Mich. U.S.A. Pat'd. 1898. Handle grips have not chips or cracks on them. The four screw are brass and show some signs of wear. All parts are original to this axe. The rubber handle grips are NOT replacement grips, but original...The pictures tell the story. Please e-mail me any questions, they are always welcome.
