Le dur désir de durer This is a true piece of history as this book was used in the Studios of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and includes the original Mourlot 581 lithograph. Granted this book looks a little rough on the outside but the beauty is on the inside. Unlike other Marc Chagall books that have been cannibalized for their precious contents, this book contains all 68 full color reproductions as well as the original Lithograph that is selling for 500 dollars on its own. "The Ballet" drawing and watercolors by Marc Chagall. Text by Jacques Lassaigne, published by Tudor publishing company New York, 1969 with an original lithograph bound into the book, pulled on the presses of Fernand Mourlot. The color plates in the book were printed by Mourlot Frères. The cloth binding looks pretty rough but considering where it lived for 20 years.... it isn't' so bad. Title: The Ballet We inherited this resurfaced, one-of-kind art-work collection from a friend who is fondly remembered by many artists worldwide (Malvina Neurath 1909-1994). My desire is to liquidate the entire private collection due to not having the space to display them properly.
