No, she was not born a poor black child, but she does hail from a small rural town down river from Detroit called Rockwood. As a young girl, watching her brother's teenage band practice in her parent's garage, she was inspired to play guitar. At the time, Margaret was playing with the choir in the Catholic Church along with said brother who played drums. Her first music lessons were from the nuns. To entertain herself, Margaret bought songbooks of classic rock songs, her favorite being AC/DC, and taught herself to play. This was the closest she could get to playing the rock'n'roll she grew to love. But boys, if the nuns could see her little Margaret now! She's all grown up.
