These exceptional vintage Mexican Silver Earrings by the famous Taxco silver artist Margot de Taxco are a great example of her fine design skill and the highest quality craftsmanship. Made in thick heavy silver they have a bold design that Margot called "Deco Pre-Columbian" ~ the matching necklace is featured in the book "Margot Van Voorhies, The art of Mexican Enamelwork" by Penny Morrill on page 127, plate VII-27. As expected in any Margot piece, they are very well made and have the typical screw backs. They measures 7/8" by 9/16" and together they weigh 8.3 grams of Sterling Silver. Hallmarked on one earring "Margot de Taxco, 5285" and "Sterling Mexico" around the eagle stamp 16 on the other ~ see pictures of mark above . They are in good original vintage condition with no signs of damage or repair and the screw backs function well.
