This breathtaking vintage Margot de Taxco Sterling Silver Necklace is a spectacular example of the artistry, creativity and craftsmanship of one of the most important of the Mexican Silver Masters. It has a bold Art Deco style with thick silver ornate links that are slightly curved and sculpted so that when the piece is worn the ends of the links curve upward giving the necklace a high profile look and a design that flows around your neck. Superbly made, each link is hinged with a pin underneath giving the necklace movement and it has a button topped push in clasp that keeps securely closed. Measuring 17" long by 3/4" at the widest point, it weighs a heavy and substantial 71.6 grams of sterling silver. Hallmarked "Margot de Taxco", with the eagle stamp 16 along with "Sterling Made in Mexico", A 5645 ~ the A indicates that the necklace was made in more than one length or size. It is in very good original vintage condition with no signs of damage or repair and time has given it the warm, rich patina collectors prefer. A truly beautiful & rare, museum quality, extraordinary necklace by an extraordinary woman.
