Marianna Edna Volz Oil Painting Original Art Man Suit This art was done by my late Great Aunt, Marianna. I haveonly fond memories of going to visit her in New York, and checking out her Manhattan loft. She was a beautiful woman inside and out! I miss her, and while we hate to see her paintings leave the family, we're glad to think of them being enjoyed by art lovers! If you're interested in viewing this work in person, a private showing can be done in Cincinnati, OH by appointment only. Marianna Edna Volz was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on September 5, 1930. She was daughter of Anthony Genius Volz and Sophi Maria Albertina (Abbey) Beyer and sister to Anthony Glenn Volz, also an artist (and art teacher). After graduating Western Hills High School, she moved on to pursue her art interest at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and later, Ohio State University. While taking classes at the Art Academy, Marianna was featured in the Cincinnati Enquirer for a prize she won for a painting made in those classes. Following graduation, she moved to New York City to teach kindergarten and elementary school at several private institutions. While in New York, she met Stanley Krasner, whom she married on January 29, 1971. Marianna was a member of the Arts Students League and continued to paint in New York for the rest of her life.
