An absolute MUST HAVE item for the Marilyn Monroe enthusiast/collector of her memorabilia.In the early 90’s I was able to acquire the three movie scripts from Marilyn Monroe’s last, uncompleted film titled, “Somethings’ Got To Give.”This bedroom comedy stared Marilyn Monroe, Dean Martin, Cyd Charisse, and Wally Cox. Marilyn had been ill during most of the filming and only shot about half her scenes. There were many rewrites to the original screen play which accounts for the three scripts. The original script is part of this three script set, with two additional scripts which include the “final” copy.It is fascinating to read through the scripts and note the scenes, character, and dialog changes as each script evolved from the original.Marilyn had “script approval” for this film and since this was the first role she would play as a “mother” of two, small children—she was intent on making sure her motherly character was as believable and sincere as possible. You can see through the rewrites how that theme was being crafted.Sadly, Marilyn did not live to finish the film. There have been many books and television shows centered around the months of the filming of this unfinished movie as Marilyn looked more beautiful than she had in years, was in the best physical condition of her life, and of the footage that survives...it is abundantly
