Marilyn Ray Storyteller Drum Acoma Pueblo This auction brings you a stunning Marilyn Ray Storyteller piece that came from a recent gallery closing in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Ray mastered all the fundamentals by the age of 18 and has established herself as one of the finest Storyteller makers of our time. Her storytellers have been commented as being the largest, most complex and innovative styles. The storyteller drum offered here is in exquisite condition. It is free from chips, cracks flea bites and repairs. It is adorned with children and birds and also has an unusual feature of added twigs. It is signed on the bottom Marilyn Ray ’95 and also has her trademark painted lizard. H er work can be seen and purchased in various galleries throughout the Southwest. She has won numerous awards including 1 st place at the 1982 Santa Fe Indian Market. Gallery price for this piece was $550.00. A very reasonable reserve has been put on this piece .
