Postcard of Marion Kansas, shows the interior of a cafe or tiny restaruant with 6 tables and a sideboard in back shown. I believe it is called the Old Santa Fe based on the white ink name applied at left. Town name applied in white ink at right. I am in love with the rich ornate embossed wainscot on the side walls. On the back side is printed a map of the Old Santa Fe Trail showing towns from Kansas City to Lyons. Real photo unused CYKO open script no stampbox est. 1908 . C ondition is very good, sharp focus, there appears to be a chemical burn in the image in the ceiling area that occured when the card was produced, does not look like a damage that occured later so rated the condition very good. Marion is located in Marion County, about 8 miles east of Hillsboro, 8 miles northwest of Florence, 15 miles north of Peabody, 205 miles northwest of Newton, and 30 miles east of McPherson. Th is is 1 of several Kansas postcard auctions I am listing on ebay today as I am selling my 35-year collection of real photo postcards. Abbreviations: rppc = real photo postcard, est. = estimate, my best guess, used = postal used, unused = not postal used but may have written message. W inner pays $1.50 postage and handling cost.
