Mark Lane of Elizabeth Town, NJ, Pillar and Scroll, Circa 1835-1837. Two years in business making these knock-offs of the famous Terry design makes this piece hard to find. This gorgeous piece exhibits very well with its original wood case alligatored patina. The case is in fine condition with few age cracks and dings. The reverse painted glass was done by a fellow NAWCC member using gold leaf and the techniques and patterns of the era. Glasses are both old and wavy. Finials are exact replica replacements of heavy brass with steel pin inserts. The label is immaculate but coming loose and the age cracked wooden painted dial is very legible with small sign of touch-up. The 30-hour wooden movement is original to the case and maker. The maker and the condition make this a real collector's piece. This clock is keeping great time and chimes on the hour on a bell. The movement has been serviced for a generation of enjoyment. All of our clocks come with the appropriate key(s), crank, pull chains or weights. Size (inches): 31x16 1/2x4 1/2. Notes about us: This is our hobby business. Our passion for antique clocks seems to always result in more clocks than we can display and enjoy in our home, so we periodically sell pieces that we have painstakingly restored, serviced and ran for weeks, months or years before our latest trades.
