MARKING GAGE, GAUGE, STANLEY NO 91, JAPANNED, GOODI have most of the Stanley marking gages or gauges listed in their catalogs from the #0 thru the #298. I will list them one by one with a new one appearing about every day for a month or so. I will not sell any ahead of time so if you need one it will appear in order sooner or later. If you buy them all you will have an instant Stanley gauge collection that it took me years to put together. At the completion of the catalog items I will offer several metric and a few "SPECIAL" gauges that were never listed in any Stanley catalog..This offering is for a Stanley # 91 Japanned Marking Gage. The #91 marking gage was Stanley's two armed version of the #90, suitable for use as a mortise gage. This gauge has a cast iron head with a two steel bars and is japanned. The arms on this gage are somewhat unusual in that each arm has one locking groove milled into the side of the rod. The #91 gauge was made by Stanley from 1898 thru 1984. The japanned models were produced during WW 2 when nickel was in short supply. This gauge is about 6 3/4" long from tip to tip . This gage is marked with the Stanley logo and the model number cast on the back of the head.These japanned version of this gage are a little more difficult to find than the nickel plated version.
