Marklin Blue 88051 LocomotiveThis locomotive was part of a Marklin Starter Set that I bought, new, from a mail-order hobby shop in Germany, several years ago. It has been in a box most of the time since then. Total running time since manufacture is under 20 minutes. I am not sure if 88051 is the correct model number for this locomotive, but its mechanism (the chassis, wheels, motor, etc) IS the 88051 mechanism with the 5 pole motor. The only difference from the regular 88051 is that the shell is painted blue instead of black. I put it on clean track and I ran it for a few seconds this afternoon. It is running very well. I could not find the instruction flyer that came with it, but I did find one for the 8800, an earlier model that has the same shell and the same lubrication requirements. I have scanned it, and will include a printed copy of the scan as well as emailing a copy over the internet. Your bid, plus $6.00 for shipping, will get you the locomotive and the scanned instruction set, shipped via USPS Priority Mail with insurance and delivery confirmation to any USA address, including Guam, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, and Washington DC. I am not interested in messing around with customs forms, so please do not ask me to ship out of the country. Feel free to ask questions. I check my e-mail at least once a day.
