You are looking at another fine creation by custom knife maker Todd Marks. This random patterned, Damascus knife was created by forge welding multiple layers of steels into a solid block called a billet -1094 & 15N20 High Carbon Tool Steels. The billet is folded and re-welded several times to produce over 400 layers. Patterns are created by manipulating the steel during the forge welding process and whenacid is added to the blade, it attacks the layers of hard and softsteels differently, highlighting the attractive layered pattern in the blade. Rockwell is about 55 to 56. The blade is 3/16ths" thick, 8-1/2" long, 1-5/8ths at its widest point, false upper edge, and razor sharp. This hidden tang bowie sports a hardened 1094 file-worked guard, nickel silver and stag spacers, steel pins, and a large stag handle with a modified silver dollar mounted in the crown. Beautifully buffed and polished. The sheath is 8oz. Ozark Oak Tanned leather, hand tooled with my own design, custom dyed and sealed to prevent moisture, with a gloss finish. Accenting the sheath is Chicago screws, a Buffalo nickel concho, and a hand cut and tooled leather leaf and a horse hair tassel at the bottom. Hand stitched with a belt loop for a large belt. This blade was purchased at the St. Louis knife show last year. Custom Knife Maker Bill Miller and respected colleague read more
