Brand New In Box Sold Out in Stores The Marshall Field's Great Clock is a Chicago tradition for 100 years. The Great Clock at Marshall Fields's State Street store was installed on November 26, 1897 on the corner of State Street and Washington Street. Mr. Marshall Field felt that Chicago needed a great clock that would signify as a meeting place, and it should be big enough to be seen for miles. On November 3, 1945, the clock was featured in a Norman Rockwell Saturday Evening Post Cover.
