Woven silk greetings card from 1883. Made for mounting as a woven silk picture - REFORMATOR MARTIN LUTHER - made to celebrate the 400th Jubilee of Martin Luther. Stevengraph style. Tissee soie. Not brodee. 15.5mm x 11mm. Not a silk postcard. This is a must for the serious collector of woven silks. The cards I offer for sale come from my own collection built up over 35 years, and are of excellent quality unless indicated otherwise. I am only selling them because I have to slim down my collection. Rarity : Rare woven silk picture Publisher : G.Wolf, Frankfurt Overall condition : Very good to excellent. Surface marks : Minor ageing to the card mount Silk material : Excellent Colours : Vibrant. Condition of back : Excellent Written on : No Image : The woven nature of the silk material can cause interference patterns in the scanning process that are not on the postcard itself.
