This is Oskar, a Steiff Polar bear from the Margarete Steiff Museum Collection. Oskar was made in a limited run as part of the Margarete Steiff Museum Collection in the 1980's. He does not have his original box or hang tag but he does still have his button. He measures approximately 7" from the tip of this nose to his tail and about 3 1/2" at his shoulder when he is standing on all fours. He is in good condition with no mohair loss but his coat is not as white as I think it should be but he has no odors and probably just needs a good cleaning. I did not purchase him new but purchased him from the estate of an elderly woman with a HUGE bear collection and he was out on the shelf which is what I believe caused his to become a bit dingy. Still he is in great shape and hard to come by and with a gentle bath will undoubted look as good as new. I'm hoping to place him in a loving home where he will be loved, cherished and enjoyed. I've been an enthusiastic Arctophile for almost 30 years now and unfortunately I am having to part with the greater part of my collection, so please check my other shop listings for more vintage and antique Teddy Bears.
