WWII VINTAGE MARX 396 B 0-4-0 COPPER/BLACK LOCOMOTIVE AND 551 TENDER - 1942. In 1942 and prior to the WWII shut-down of t oy train mfg., MARX produced the 396B 0-4-0 Locomotive--Black and Copper bodied, and Black 551 Tender. Here is one in excellent condition. Very hard to find one in its original condition like this. The Loco & Tender were completely disassembled and each section sand blasted-primer coated--then each section painted to its original color inside & out. The motor was torn down--cleaned--serviced--armature & e-unit cleaned--new brushes--light lube--and tested on a layout. Drivers are uncracked and solid. Three piece contact plate was cleaned on both sides and shows very little run time. Original driver rods are nice. Ran very strong and the e-unit cycles at a snap from transformer directional control. Tender--Also has new vinyl NYC (Black) Transfers & Marx metal tab/slot loco drawbar. Other specifications: Black domes--Black smoke stack--Copper Bell--Black handrails--Clear multi-dotted glass light lens--Black metal light ring--Metal top of Boiler Front Marker Lights(show green) with two new green marker lenses inside. New light bulb (original) & 396 Boiler front insert is very nice. This is a beautiful, fully restored, WWII Marx Loco & Tender in pristine condition. Runs fine backward & forward, and light works.
