Marx 3-dome Red Mercury set with all 7 cars red/white lithography All these cars and the engine are far from common. The 3-dome red Mercury engine has its original red paint, with numerous touchups of small places where once the steel was bare.. As you know, Marx dipped their engines, and the small runs on the lower front of the shell is quite visible. The original paint is all there, and the meticulous touchups, carefully done, have made it quite beautiful. I would call the tender an easy 8, almost 9. All the Pullman cars are all lighted, and all have their original brass handgrips. Botoga number 1 I would call an easy 8 plus, Bogota Pullman number 2 I would call a 7 plus. Bogota number 3 I would call a full 9 to 9 plus. The Pullman Montclair an easy 8 with one small ding. Again, all cars have their brass handgrips - they are all there on all the lighted cars. The observationhas numerous scratches,with a couple of small bad places around 2 of the window - not that bad at all. The observation car has both the pickup and the tailpiece light cover. There is a red light inside the tailpiece light cover. The red tailpiece insert is not there - all else is present. The seachlight car I would call a 7, no better. But it is all intact. with the pickup, and the last time I checked it, the light worked, but sporadically, as the little springs read more
