Circa 1973 Marx Figure 8 Trestle Set, All of the items look like new. Instructions and the packing slip included. The engine shows mild rub marks on the pickup (this is the only not "like new" I see). Essentially no wheel wear on the tender or rolling stock. I don't understand that, but that's the way it is. The 490 engine/tender has a factory stamping error. Part of the "Southern Pacific Li NE s" (NE) is double stamped on one side. See the picture of the engine/tender. It's easy to see if you magnify the picture with the eBay tool. As I've looked at it it appears to have been a stamping error due to a movement problem. The "NE" in LINES is lightly stamped, and it's as though that light stamping shared its ink with the double stamp. The other side is factory normal. The engines runs strong with the reversing unit (2 position) and the light works. It has an over under figure 8 graduated trestle set like the 1414 bridge/tunnel set . There are 8 matched pairs of graduated trestles (for a total of 16). Just as there are on the inner box picture and description on the box. None missing though the 1414 set had more. The cars all look like new. 1) LV 21913 Hopper 2) SOU flatcar 51100 with two original cars. 3) SP caboose. Plastic knuckle couplers on them all. There's an inner box that has a picture of the entire set on it and is in wonderful read more
