This auction is for one (1) great early aqua GEM mason jar. I am parting with some items from my own collection. This beautiful jar has been in my collection for awhile, along with several others that appear in my other auctions, and is in near mint condition, with no chips, cracks, or dings. Has inside staining, but have to hold to light to see. Embossing on front reads, in circle: GEM. On back is embossed: large shield. Embossed on base: PATd DEC 17 - 61. REIS SEP 1 1867 plus other patent dates. Has original regular gem (embossed) lid, with metal band. Very crude and bubbly! Shows light beautifully through window! Very whittley old 1900s glass! This is a half gallon-sized jar. Wonderful piece that would make a great addition to someone's bottle or jar collections. Please see pictures for details. Photos are with flash and without, so t may appear to be some color discrepancies that don't really exist.
