MASONIC MEDAL-Early 1900's-South Africa-EXCELLENT COND As part of the release of my stunning Masonic items, I am pleased to offer for auction this MAGNIFICENT, South African-issued MASONIC MEDAL. I believe it to be from the early 1900's, as I had it together with another medal dated 1908 (currently listed with my auction items) from the same lodge. This stunning Gilt Metal MEDAL is inscribed on the top bar "BENONI KILWINNING Lodge No. 993 S.C." and below that is a crafted signet badge, secured on a blue ribbon. The main pendant is superbly crafted and consists of two crossed quills joined by a clover bow, mounted over a pentagonal star (See photos). The pendant section has a maker's mark "F.C.M." on the reverse, but no other engravings. This Medal measures 4" long, and 1¾" at the widest area, and has a 2¼" long, fastening pin. It is in EXCELLENT CONDITION and displays beautifully (see photos). I am supplying it in a black medal case, but mention must be made that I do NOT think this is the original case it was issued in. I am in the process of thinning down my collection, and have listed several other Masonic Jewels/Medals, and regalia. to take a look at my current items.
