This is probably the biggest and best Asiatic Pheasant piece I have ever scene. It is a huge meat platter made by Beech & Hancock as marked on the backstamp that dates from 1857 - 1876. It measures a whopping 20" long,15.5" across and approx 2" tall and it weighs over 3 kilos! It's main body is raised from the surface of a table with a scalloped plinth and it has a grooved tree branch like shape on it's surface that runs into a deep fat reservoir. It is in amazing condition given that it is at least 138 years old with no chips or cracks but understandably it does have some underglaze age crazing, some firing spots and colouring and minor rubbing on the edges. This is a very rare and beautiful thing and a dream for the collectors. Given the platter's weight and rarity I am sending it Express Delivery reaching you by 12 noon the following day from posting, tracked with compensation up to £200.
