Mastercraft PZL WSK Mielec TS-11 IskraBR model kit Catalogue ref 7201 1/72nd Scale In 1951 a group of specialists led by ing. Sottyk started working on a construction of school-training jet-plane PZL TS-11 "Iskra" (Spark). After three years of work a prototype of this plane was ready and on the 5.02.1960 a first full trial took place. A year later all tests were finished positively, so the PZL TS-11 "Iskra" has been recognised as a training plane for Polish Air Force. In 1963 a new type of jet engine (SO-1) was used to power the "Iskra" with extended power of 785 daN. This build attained three world records and proved its versatility. After these successes in 1964 serial production began and lasted up to 1987 Twenty series were released in six versions during this period of time: TS-11 "Iskra" BIS A, TS-11 "Iskra" BIS B, TS-11 "Iskra" BIS C, TS-11 "lskra" BIS D, TS-11 "Iskra" BIS DF, TS-11 "Iskra" 200 BR. Technical data of TS-11 "Iskra": Construction - wings of double lifted construction halfcrusted, endowed with ailerons,flaps with two chinks and aerodynamic brakes.
