A charming Mauchline Ware piece in the form of a dice shaker. Size is 51 mm high with diameter tapering from 41 to 33 mm top to bottom. A simple item, but with two very good images, one of 'Warrenpoint and Carlingford Lough', the other of 'Rosstrevor'. Below the second image is the legend 'R.A Junes Warrenpoint & Rosstrevor'. At first sight this is a lovely example of Mauchline - but there are a couple of blemishes. The 'wall' of the shaker is very thin at the top, with the result that there is a sealed vertical split exactly midway between the images (and hence unseen in the photos!) There is also a rough patch towards the bottom of the inside, which I think is probably a flaw in the original wood rather than wear. Neither blemish detracts markedly from this dainty and unusual item.
