A CHARMING ANTIQUE PASTEL PAINTING ENGLISH SCHOOL A PORTRAIT OF A FAITHFUL DOG DATED VERSO 1916 BY MAUDE D. HEAPS NO RESERVE SALE!! Maude Heaps is a well collected British animal artists who's paintings and pastel drawings are keenly sought after. She exhibited at The London Salon between 1913 and 1914 and was recorded as living at Ilkely in Yorkshire, England. Her highest priced works are often pastels on paper and this piece is no exception. Beautiful work here- this is an enchanting item. A Genuine Attic find from Leeds, the frame was so dirty that we couldn't make out what the picture was when we first saw it. The glass was cracked (this has been removed for safe shipping). Upon opening the frame the artists original details are clearly visible. Some paper browning is evident and the mount and frame is somewhat delapidated. This piece is signed with initials lower right. One of a pair of animal studies we have on Ebay by this artist currently.
