MAX’S KANSAS CITY RARE LATE 70’S FOOD/DRINK MENU+1978 HANDBILLS/NYCKBD PUNKUp for auction we have a very hard to find original bar food & drink menu from the home of mid-70’s-early 80’s NYC punk, Max’s Kansas City. Also included in this auction are two vintage 1978 handbills from the club. The menu measures about 5 1/2” by 8 1/2”, and I believe is from 1977. It is a gatefold with 3 printed panels with the back page being blank. The front of it has the food listed, and the inside two pages features the cool drinks they featured that were named after bands that had played there. Many of the legendary NYC punk/new wave bands of the time are represented here, including Mink Deville, The Brats, The Ramones, Suicide, Tuff Darts, Wayne County, Blondie, Cherry Vanilla, The Dolls, The Fast, The Heartbreakers, and more! It is in good condition considering its age. There are corner creases on the upper right (when closed) and some light reddish staining and mild age related yellowing; but as you can see in our pictures, it still looks real good. The two handbills measure about 1 ¾” by 7” and feature bands such as The Blessed, The Nervous Eaters, The Heat, The Victims, The Mumps, The Dots, and Syl Sylvain (from The New York Dolls) & The Criminals. Outside of some mild age related yellowing, these are in excellent condition. All items are guaranteed read more
