This piece depicts the Shaman in a crouching position wearing a tall and pointed feathered headpiece. This figurine and base are made out of black obsidian rock with a smooth and high polish finish. This specific type of obsidian gives the figurine its natural jet black coloration and shine, a truly unique piece! This piece is highly detailed, with days of work involved in its construction. The shaping and polish processes are all handmade and involves no templates. Done by some of the best artisans from the region of Teotihuacan with generations of experience. The item measures: 7.4 inches tall. 2.5 inches wide (knees). What is Obsidian? Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed as an extrusive igneous rock.
