Crewmen working on Tanks and the like experienced much different situations than traditional infantry and therefore needed specialized gear. The MCCEB was developed to transport individual mission-essential equipment outside of a vehicle. The Crewman Packs are considered "mounted" because the only place for soldiers to store their pack while on the Tank was on an outside mount designed specifically for storing packs and equipment. This oversized pack offers great versatility It has three large zippered compartments, aligned vertically. The top compartment has a drawstring and map pocket flap, the bottom two have a wide zipper opening, and there are three smaller compartments with quick release buckles on the front.
