Mediterranean dagger from Sardinia/Corsica/ Sicily.According to an Israeli expert the knife is from the beginning of the 19th century, 1800-1850.The knife was made by a local master, and has a length of approximately 32 cm, high quality leather sheath and partial bone and wood handle.The dagger was probably used in Vendetta murders,the vendetta code meant that if your honor or that of your family was impugned, you were bound to take action - after duly advising the wrongdoer to choose one of the three S's: schioppo (gun), stiletto (dagger) or strada (escape).Between 1821 and 1852, no fewer than 4,300 vendetta murders occured in Corsica.The dagger is very high quality and guaranteed original, the price for these are going up because of the age and the rarity of these weapons.
