Elegant 9c rose gold man's wristwatch dating from circa 1954. Made by royal London jewellers Mappin (before they became Mappin & Webb). The watch is in perfect working order, with an hour and minute hand, plus a separate second dial. The face is is good condition, considering age and could probably do with being cleaned sometime in the next 20 years!. I think the winder and domed glass may have been replaced at some point although both suit the style of the watch perfectly. The strap is leather ( a good quality one) but could do with replacing in due course as starting to wear a bit at the buckle. The lugs which joint the strap to the watch are flexible, so the watch sits very comfortably on your wrist. I have taken a photo of the watch with two pound coins, to show how slim it is - it's a real 1950's timepiece and has a very elegant look and feel. On the back there is an inscription dated to 1954 to a Mr Campbell presented on his retirement after 34 years service (nice pressie!). Contact me if you have any additional questions. Thank you.
