A Group Of Mesolithic artifacts - This assembledge of lithics dates to the mesolithic period, pre 8000 bp in Britain, when the inhabitants of Britain were still hunters and gatherers, before the dawn of farming. In East anglia and elsewhere people lived and hunted along the river valleys where the animals came to the waters edge. High ground within the River ouse river valley in Norfolk , close to Thetford is where this group of flints were collected from. The collection site a prehistoric track way within 2 miles of Grimes Graves neolithic flint mine complex produces numbers of flint arifacts as natural erosion occurs. This group were collected in 1997 after a rain storm had washed them out of the fine breckland sands. A location finds map to the winning bidder with relevant paperwork and a guarentee of authenticity for life of the artifacts sold.
