These two rubber arms/claws, belong to the METALUNA MUTANT. The 1955 movie "This Island Earth". In the mid 1990's I would trade my paintings for props. The prop collector had only top quality items. I haven't been in contact with him for years. I can't say exactly where these props came from, however, they look like the real thing! They are made of rubber and filled with soft foam rubber. They are 25 1/2" long. The open claws measure: 9 1/2' wide. I spent several days researching this item on Google, with no results. There is no mention of mutant arms anywhere. Not even Don Post studios (who did the Mutant rubber head in 1966) had produced Mutant arms! So I can't say where these props came from. In my opinion, they look like a real casting from an original mold. But thats just my guess.There is a certain professionel quality to them, that an amature casting just can't capture.That is all the information I have.
