Sikhote-Alin nickel-iron meteorite from Russia. Iron Coarsest Octahedrite, 14 grams. Approximate dimensions: 3/4" x 1/2" x 1/2". This complete individual has an excellent overall shape, some impressive regmaglypts, good overall detail, and the characteristic Sikhote-Alin black crust. Because this was a relatively recent fall (1947), Sikhote-Alins have little or no rust, and minimal weathering. This allows even the smallest stones to maintain crisp surface detail.
