This is one of the more desirable "Brick Cell Phones" ~ and ~ a "must have" for the more serious collections. ... aaaaaand now, -- {drum-roll} -- ON with the - (original but new again) - AUCTION ! Greetings from New Mexico !!! Throughout my radio travels, I come across a few telephones, and, since I specialize in variety, I do pick them up too, along with lamps, microphones, speakers, hi-fi stuff, ouch, too much! As it is, I need to downsize my radio collection, but I have all this other stuff to find a good new home for too. I Don't know much about these "Brick Phones", but figure someone out there may want to collect them. I do understand they used to cost big bucks when they were new in the 1980s. Good props for home movies too ! - Now you can make a Bruce Willis Movie !!! ------------------------------- This phone is working to the extent that I can judge with my limited knowledge & testing. I had to charge (charger not incl.) up the battery for it (included, as seen in pics.) but it won't hold enough charge very long, but long enough to test different things, if you do it in 3 parts. First all the display parts are checked, and touch-tone buttons. The buttons all back-light up, and I tried to capture that in the dark picture. This is just after power up. I can push all the buttons and hear the proper-familiar sounding associated touch-tones, then I can try to push "Snd" and get a two-pitch alternating sound - (sounds like one of those European police sirens). And it flashes in large letters NO in the first screen , then SERVICE in the next screen. Alternating That too !!. The volume can be adjusted, and have checked that. This phone is not locked, as some of my remaining ones are. There are some nasty looking nicks here and there, and a scratch on the display, that lghts up in that large dark picture, just to the left side of the "I" in the "In Use" lighted part of the display. When I began my picture session with this, The antenna seems tohave been screwed on a lot more flush to the top surface of phone than it wants to go now. I don't know if the lock-nut moved up or if somehow I have cross-threads, but you can see in one of the pictures that the antenna is scewed on, just not all the way flush. That is all it wants to go now, You can check into it when it gets there. There is a nasty nick near the "1" button. To the right of the "Snd" button, there is a little that looks bigger than it is, but looks that way in person too. The Mfg'r Label showing Model and Serial numbers, etc, is not that great looking shape, I can barely make out the model # is: F09GTD9459DC as best as I can make out. If you slide out the battery on back, you can see there appears to be some sticky residue left between the sticker and the antenna end, just above the long sticker on the phone. I do not know what kind of sticker would have been there, as the mfgr plate kind of sticker is at the very bottom (underneath) of the phone as it stands upright. I cannot guarantee the battery will hold its charge thru the mail. "shelf-life" issues and all, donchano'... BUT !!! : All buttons make a distinct tone, as expected, and all buttons light up, and all display functions work too, as Far as I can tell. Anyway, I took a few pictures you can study and see if you like it.
