This rooster stands 14” tall to thte top of his comb and tailfeathers. He is molded from a red-brown clay and only glazed w the hand-painted decorations are. Rather than being realistic, the designs are mostly floral. On the bottom of the piece is the name “NIEVES MEXICO”. T is a chip on an unglazed portion of the tailfeathers, near the edge on the back side. This may date from the time of manufacture--on the opposite side of the tail is another area that looks like it chipped and was filed flat before glazing.
