MEXICAN POTTERY TALAVERA NAPKIN HOLDER & JARS_BSW2 DESCRIPTION: This auction is for a new hand crafted and hand painted Mexican talavera pottery napkin or letter holder and a lovely matching pair of small Jars . This delightful piece can be used on your kitchen or Dining room table as a napkin holder or as a bright spot on your desk for letters; it is decorated with a gorgeous hand painted Spanish like design in a lovely cobalt blue color on a white background. The color is incredible, but the picture does not show the real intensity of it. This item is hand painted with lead free paint. DIMENSION: Napkin Holder is 6" length, 3 ¾" tall and 2" wide. Jars are 2 ½" by 2 ½" and 3 ¾" tall. HISTORY: The style of pottery is called talavera and is from the central region of Mexico mainly the states of Puebla , Hidalgo and Guanajuato. This piece in particular is from the state of Guanajuato. CONDITION: The pieces are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, but they have the usual rough surface and flaws that as with any handmade items these slight variations and "imperfections" add to the beauty of it and make each piece unique.
