They are set on a secret hinged door that reveals a receptacle. These are commonly called a poison ring but is it a vinaigrette ring. One would place a perfumed soaked piece of cotton inside so that a man could enjoy the fragrance when he kissed her hand. This ring is adjustable. Right now it is a size 7 and the band is a bit out of round. Face of the ring measures 1" by 1/2". It has a circular Mexican / Taxco hallmark and a number 1 eagle stamp. It weighs 6.8 grams.
