BANCO de MICHOACAN Mexico 10 Share BOND 1902/ BONO 10 Acciones 1902 with 50 Coupons A 10 Share/Accion Stock Certificate for the BANCO de MICHOACAN, S.A. with issue date of 1º September 1902 in the amount of 10 Shares at 100 Pesos each (of 6000). This certificate was issued, has three hand-signed signatures at the bottom and a dark olive 1 Peso revenue stamp at center top. Size is 10" by 17" folded, with additional side of coupons numbers 11 to 60, (1 to 10 were redeemed). The back has the title cover and has Extract of Statues. It was printed by Talleres Escuela I.M.P. Diaz, Morelia, on thick paper with no watermark and appears to be fairly high quality printing. [A note to all collectors: I recently had a serious conversation with one of the specialists in Mexican fiscal documents who informed me that ALL of these types of documents NO MATTER WHAT WORDS THEY USE IN THE TEXT are stock certificates NOT, I repeat, NOT BONDS!!!! The problem was that NO ONE who was involved in the issuance of these documents was knowledgeable enough to KNOW the difference between the words, implications or even meaning of ACCION and BONO (Stocks and Bonds). Therefore the terms were used interchangeable without actual fiscal basis. Those who issued them could not have legally issued bonds but they did not realize the difference in terminology!!!
