This offering is for small pieces of New Mexico gold from the San Pedro Mountains, near Golden, New Mexico. The vial contains 1.0 grams (15.4 grains!) of fine New Mexico gold. These small pieces of gold falls through a #20 screen and caught by a #30 so are the size of coarse sand. I do a special cleanup process to get out ALL the sand and lead and so you are left with is a very dense amount of good clean New Mexico gold of 92% purity or better. These small pieces of gold are mostly chunky very dense pieces similar to irregular balls, not having traveled far from the source in these arid mountains, very unlike Alaskan gold were abundant water beats the gold with rocks until it is flattened. Gold was discovered in the San Pedro Mountains in 1839, a full ten years before the great California gold rush. Gold from this area is known to be 92% or better in purity. I have checked the gold purity and it does show to be 92% or better in purity. The area no longer produces gold on a large scale but I do manage to mine a little gold out of these rugged and arid mountains.
