A very high grade 8 Reales of 1789. Better than Extremely Fine and scarce thus. Known as the transitional type, due to the portrait of the previous king, Charles III, and the legend of the new king, Charles IV. Apparently, the new dies had not arrived from Spain, so the old dies were utilized. Minor corrosion present, yet a great portrait and a tough type to find this nice. Cataloged as KM 107.
