Mickey's Christmas Carol 1983 Animation Cel.Mickey's Christmas Carol Mickey and Minnie Mouse Reproduction Cel (Walt Disney, 1983). Mickey's Christmas Carol is an adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, starring Scrooge McDuck as Ebenezer Scrooge and Mickey Mouse as Bob Cratchit. This was the first original Mickey Mouse theatrical cartoon produced in over 30 years! Many additional characters seen in the film had also not appeared in a theatrical cartoon for several decades. The film was also the last time in which Clarence Nash voiced Donald Duck. Mickey's Christmas Carol was originally intended to debut as a prime-time special on CBS in 1982. However, due to an animators' strike, the special was not finished in time for Christmas of that year. The film premiered in the United Kingdom on 10/20/83, packaged together with a re-release of the 1977 film The Rescuers. It was billed as Mickey's "big-screen comeback" because his last appearance in a theatrical cartoon was 30 years earlier in the 1953 short, The Simple Things.In this reproduction cel featuring Mickey and Minnie and kids as the Cratchit family decorating their Christmas tree with popcorn.
