This Brass Jelly Pail with Wrought Iron Bale Handle was made around 1850 by the Ansonia, CT Brass Company patented by H.W. Hayden stamped Dec 16, 1851. The Wrought Iron Handle is secured on both sides by beautiful copper rivets. These pails are a wonderful accent piece in any country home and can be used in so many ways. You will note in my photos that I use mine for plants and also use them at the fireplace hearth for holding Kindling in the winter months. This pail is in very good condition and measures 12" in diameter at the top, 8 1/2" at the bottom and is 8" deep excluding the handle. These pails are made in many different sizes therefore making them appropriate for so many different uses. Thanks for looking and feel free to e-mail me with any questions.
