MID-CENTURY MODERN BLENKO ART GLASS HUSTED 'CHESSMAN PIECE' DECANTER BOTTLE BALUSTRADED FORM WAYNE HUSTED DESIGNED circa 1959 THOUGHT TO BE BLENKO STOCK# 5929S STOPPER CASED IN CRYSTAL PLUMP FULL STYLE You are bidding on the actual item pictured. No chips or cracks. Just under 22 inches tall. I'm not sure what shade of green color that Blenko has for this piece, it's very close to sea green and juniper. The stopper looks to be cased in crystal which would be more difficult and costly to produce. This hand blown piece of mid-century modern art glass was designed by Wayne Husted who designed for Blenko from 1953 to 1963. As shown in one of my pictures this piece has two makers flaws that I see. I have detected a bubble inside the stopper and a raised line blemish that is about 1 1/2 inches long. This blemish is not a crack or chip, just a small flaw when the piece was made. I am by no means an expert in Blenko art glass, so please ask me questions to clarify any thing about this piece. I have seen similar pieces in different shades of color on the internet selling close to $3000.00. My pictures of this piece were taken under natural light and not enhanced in order to show the exact color of the piece. The color almosts seems to change as the piece is moved.
