True VINTAGE MID CENTURY MODERN /ART DECO TORCHIERE LAMPTorchiere "Star Lamp" is solid brass. It does have a cast iron weight under the base (see pictures). There are no maker's marks that I can find. The on/ off switch knob is marked with the letter "F." The brass has been polished and is in very good condition. Includes original milk glass "waffle" pattern shade. From the late 1940s to early 1950s.This lamp does work. Height is 27" including shade (about 22" tall without shade) and about 6" diameter at base.GREAT LAMP FOR A COLLECTOR OF MID CENTURY DESIGN.LAMP WEIGHS ABOUT 7 POUNDS.SHIPPING WITH PACKING WILL BE APPROX. 8.5 lbs.
