Truly a RARE find. Two, 5-piece place settings from McNicol of Clarksburg, W. Va., which opened in 1916 went out of business in 1969. There are 10 pieces in this lot. Here's what you get: 2- five piece place settings, each consisting of a dinner plate (9 1/2" in diameter), a salad plate (7 1/4" in diameter), a cup (holds 6 ounces) and saucer (5 1/2" in diameter), and what appears to be a steeper saucer (6" in diameter) or possibly a fruit bowl (would not be deep enough to be a cereal bowl) in a Greek key or "chi" pattern. This set is made up of two McNicols maker's marks. One of the marks is "M" with a crown on top- and the other mark is imprinted with GENUINE CHINA McNicol CHINA surrounded by a badge symbol, CLARKSBURG, W.V., U.S.A. These pieces are in excellent used condition with no chips, crack, fractures or fleabites and only gentle use signs of slight utensil scratches.
