Miles Mason Coffee Can C1808 Bat Print Greek Gods ?Pat 388 Description This early 19th Century porcelain Coffee Can was made by Miles Mason, it dates to around 1808-10. The Can has a loop handle with a thumb rest,it is decorated with bat printed figures of Greek Gods in cartouches on a salmon coloured background. There is elaborate gilding on the salmon grounds and gilt banding. I think the pattern is probably number 388. The pattern is illustrated on page 88 of "Miles Mason Patterns & Shapes" published by the Masons Collector's Club. The Can is in good condition, no chips, cracks or restoration. The gilt decoration is in good order, but there is rubbing to the bat printed decoration and some light discolouration on the inside of the Can. I am selling a number of other Miles Mason pieces.Size: Can is approx 7cms across rim, 7 cms high, Terms & Conditions: Descriptions of Items for Sale: All items I sell are as Used, Vintage or Antique and as such may have flaws and signs of wear commensurate with age.
