A Fine World War Two "Italian Front"Immediate Military Cross Group of Six Attributed to Captain H. A. Cole , RoyalArmy Medical Corps, attached to the 1st King's Own Royal Regiment , during the hand-to-hand fighting around Pideura from December 7th - 14th 1944, when he went forward into the exposed company positions to treat the wounded under heavy mortar fire. Comprising : Military Cross, GVIR (reverse officially dated 1945) 1939-45 Star, Africa and Italy Stars, 1939-45 Defence War Medals Together with University of Sheffield, Faculty of Medicine, "Walter S. Kay Gold Medal" , Mental Disease, (engraved : (HUBERT ARCHIBALD COLE 1936) , silver gilt in case of issue, generally nearly extremely fine These seven (7) medals were purchased 2004 from the Harpers Online Auction House in England / The Military Cross (MC) London Gazette 24 May 1945 "...gallant and distinguished services in North West Europe" Captain Hubert Archibald Cole, M.B. (128227), Royal Army Medical Corps (Rotherham) Recommendation states: "Capt. H.A. Cole, RAMC, is Regimental Medical Officer to 1st Bn The King's Own Royal Regiment.
