Antique Miniature Japanese 3 Footed Cloisonne Kogo w/ Opaque(standard) & Translucent Enamels Presented for your consideration today is this finely made Japanese cloisonne three footed kogo(covered storage box). It's decorated around it's entire circumference with hanging flowers, greenery, and a few small butterflies. They are done with opaque enamels in the standard fashion, with deep blue translucent background enamels interspersed throughout it's entirety. There are tiny silvered bits below the translucent enamels which make it sparkle when it catches the light. The piece appears simple in it's construction, relatively speaking of course,as the decorations are not complicated,as they have to be quite compact to fit onto such a small piece. However,if you look closely, you can see that large portions of the wired areas are done with braided wires, which is not done on your normal type of run of the mill piece.I say deep blue when describing the background enamels color on the main piece,as the translucent enamels are a much richer colored blue than they appear in the photos, although nowhere near as blue as the almost blue black opaque color enamel on it's underside.Just a slightly darker blue than as shown. It's top cover has purple, aquamarine, and the same deep blue color decoration found on the main portion of the piece, all of them being read more
