This fine porcelain double sided salt dish , was made by Minton , circa 1850-70 , and bears the Minton mark , on the base , this mark was only used on Minton's finest wares . It is from a royal service and bears the VA monogram , for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert , on each side . It is modelled in the form of a Scottish thistle and has painted thistles around the base , so it was most likely made for use at Balmoral Castle . It stands at 3 1/8" high and measures 6 5/8" x 2 3/4" in diameter . It is in good condition with no chips , cracks or restoration , there is just some wear to the gilding , on the edges , as shown .Check out my other items !Be sure to add me to your favorites list !
